1. We used to be Dragon Spell Publishing
Well, not really. We were always Lyrical Press, Inc. We just happened to also be Dragon Spell. We all feel more comfortable as Lyrical.
(Sorry to disappoint the conspiracy theorists. There was no covert reason other than we just wanted to simplify things)
2. We just hired an Editor-In-Chief
We recently hired Emma Wayne Porter and she is amazing. A gift from God. A blessing. We adore her.
(Have I raved enough?)
3. We like dragons
Hence, why we wanted to use Dragon Spell to publish romance.
4. The secret behind the intertwined dragon logo
As the company is jointly owned by Frank and I, we wanted something to represent us in way that accurately portrays our unbreakable bond of husband and wife and business partners.
5. We have amazing authors
Lyrical is still in its infancy and already we have an amazing group of authors. We're so proud and honored to have every one of them and truly look forward to watching their careers flourish.
6. At Lyrical, we're a family
Frankie and I want every member of Lyrical to know that with us, they are part of a family. We are open to suggestions from our authors and staff on how we can better provide a fantastic publishing experience. We never want anyone with us to feel that "going to work" is a hassle and hardship, but be excited when they sit down to write/edit.
7. Yes, we're going print
Frank and I have every intention of taking titles over 70k to print by 2009. We're already working with Lightning Source and look forward to the day when we see our author's book sitting on a shelf in a brick-and-mortar bookstore.
8. We have a meet and greet planned for April 2008
As of right now, we hope to secure April 21 for a meet and greet, where the authors and staff of Lyrical Press will be joined by Andrei Claude (cover model and Mr. Romance 2005!) as well as the authors and staff of Dark Eden Press. We're working toward securing a bookstore were this event will take place in Manhattan, New York.
9. We're holding a contest!
In honor of our "mascot" Frank, the Delivery Man (see him over there looking adorable on the sidebar?) we're hosting the Kiss the Delivery Man contest! All you need to do to win a $50 gift certificate is send us a picture of you kissing a delivery man. Send all entires (pictures) to publisher@lyricalpress.com. The winner will be announced on May 5th - our grand opening!
10. We're going to have a separate bookstore
Lyrical Press, Inc. also owns an online store Once Upon a Bookstore, where our catalog of books will be sold. It's currently under construction and will be up and running by mid-April.
11. Yes, we will be on Fictionwise, ARe etc...
Frank and I are already working toward having our titles sold on Fictionwise, ARe, MobiPocket, etc.
12. Promotional opportunities for our authors
We will be offering our authors special promotional opportunities such as supplying author pages on Fallen Angel Reviews, supplying banner ad space on various websites, and other promo goodies.
13. We are open to submissions and seeking final line editors
We're currently accepting submissions in all romance genres except YA and poetry. No Happily-Ever-After? No problem. Have that manuscript you just can't seem to find a home for? We'll gladly give a chance. We are also actively seeking Final Line Editors, so, if you're interested int he position please write Frank and I at publsiher@lyricalpress.com.
Our main goal is to give authors the chance to succeed in the publishing world. I was given a chance, and for that I'm eternally grateful. I want to pass that on and offer authors the same opportunity I was given. Frank and I also want every LP author to know they are respected, honored and part of a family.

Yay, I'm first! Nice to meet you - thanks for checking out my Heath Ledger T13. I'll have to look at your site - I write dark paranormal and historical that get to HEA through a great deal of torment first. I like your intertwined dragon heart logo, by the way.
I know a lot more about y'all now... Thanks for the update!
Happy TT!

What an interesting way to introduce yourself! Thanks for visiting MY T-13 on Quotes to Consider this week and leaving the link back here so I could discover you.
Hugs and blessings,
Will your print novels be available at places like Amazon or Barnes & Noble?
Our print titles will be available through Ingrams. Where they are, our books are and I know they distribute to B&N.
Thank you for your inquiry! :)
